For tall windows, vaulted ceilings, hard-to-reach openings, and short-term rental properties, motorized shades pay for themselves quickly. They also extend product life because no one is yanking on cords or wands. For everyday windows in a single-story home, manual is often fine.

Battery-powered motorized shades are easier to retrofit and avoid wiring through finished walls. Hardwired systems are quieter and never need a charge. We recommend hardwired for new construction and battery for existing homes that do not want drywall work.

Yes. We carry Lutron, Hunter Douglas PowerView, and Somfy systems that integrate with Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit, and Control4. Each system has different strengths -- we will match the integration to your existing smart home.

Modern hardwired motors run at 38 to 44 decibels -- quieter than a refrigerator. Battery motors are slightly louder but still suitable for bedrooms. We can demo each option in your home.
