Hunter Douglas Window Treatments on the Florida Coast.
The reference manufacturer for coastal-rated plantation shutters, cellular shades, and motorized systems. Palm Beach Polysatin is the most-installed product on the Panhandle for a reason.
About Hunter Douglas
The brand built for coastal life.
Hunter Douglas is the largest window treatment manufacturer in North America, founded in 1946 and headquartered in Pearl River, New York. The brand owns several category-defining product lines including Palm Beach Polysatin shutters (the moisture-proof reference product), Duette cellular shades, Silhouette window shadings, Heritance hardwood plantation shutters, and PowerView motorization. For coastal Florida, the Palm Beach Polysatin line is arguably the single most-installed window treatment product in the Pensacola, Destin, and Panama City Beach markets.
We have been an authorized Hunter Douglas dealer on the Florida Panhandle since 1996. That relationship means priority manufacturing access during pre-hurricane-season demand spikes, lifetime workmanship warranty layered onto the Hunter Douglas product warranty, and direct technical support when condo HOA boards in the Scenic 98 corridor need engineering letters for the shutter system. Coastal installs demand a brand that engineers explicitly for salt, humidity, and UV; Hunter Douglas does.
This page covers the Hunter Douglas product lines we install most often across the Panhandle, the warranty terms in plain language, and which products are genuinely the right call for coastal life versus inland Panhandle versus the cooler South Alabama markets. For pricing, see our Florida plantation shutter cost guide.

Heritance Hardwood Shutters
Premium basswood plantation shutters in custom-matched stains and paints. The choice for inland and second-row builds where moisture is normal interior (Pace, Daphne, Pensacola East Hill, Fairhope) and stained wood is part of the architectural language. Salt-spec hardware standard on our coastal Heritance installs. Lifetime panel warranty, 25-year fade warranty on stain.

Duette Honeycomb Cellular Shades
The energy-efficient cellular shade. Triple-cell construction delivers R-7.1 insulation, which materially reduces heat gain on Gulf-facing windows during summer. Our PCB and Destin installs frequently show 12 to 18 percent cooling-bill reduction after a whole-house Duette install on the west and Gulf-facing elevations.

What the Hunter Douglas warranty actually covers.
Lifetime on Palm Beach Polysatin
Palm Beach carries a lifetime limited warranty against material defects, finish, fade, yellowing, peel, and warp. The warranty applies in any humidity environment including beachfront installs. Lifetime means the lifetime of the original purchaser at the original install address. Non-prorated for the first 25 years.
Heritance hardwood coastal warranty
Heritance hardwood shutters carry a lifetime warranty on the frame and panel against warping and material failure, plus a 25-year fade warranty on stained finishes. Painted finishes: lifetime against peel, 25 years against yellowing. We add salt-spec marine hardware on coastal Heritance installs, which is warranted separately by the hardware manufacturer.
PowerView motorization warranty
PowerView motors carry a 7-year warranty. Pebble Smart Hub, remotes, and electronics carry a 5-year warranty. Battery packs carry a 2-year warranty. For coastal installs, we register every motorized system with Hunter Douglas at install time so the warranty starts on the install date. Salt-air does not void the motor warranty.
Our coastal workmanship warranty
On top of the Hunter Douglas warranty, we add our own lifetime workmanship guarantee. For coastal installs that includes hinge re-lubrication after year 10, anchor inspection after year 15, and any adjustment needed if the trim settles or the panel goes out of square. The warranty covers the original purchaser at the original install address.

Questions Panhandle homeowners ask
The honest answers.
Is Hunter Douglas the right brand for Florida coastal homes?
For coastal Florida, Hunter Douglas Palm Beach Polysatin is the reference product for moisture-proof plantation shutters and the most-installed line on the Panhandle. The lifetime warranty against fade, yellowing, peel, and warp holds up under salt mist, humidity, and Gulf-facing UV. For non-shutter products, Hunter Douglas competes with Norman and Graber; we spec by product line, not by brand loyalty.
Does Palm Beach Polysatin really handle salt air?
Yes. Palm Beach Polysatin is engineered for moisture environments and the baked-on finish carries a lifetime warranty against fade, yellowing, peel, and warp regardless of humidity. We install Palm Beach in Destin Holiday Isle beachfront primaries, Pensacola Beach high-rise condos, and Panama City Beach gulf-front bathrooms, with 15+ year-old installs still looking identical to install day.
What is the Hunter Douglas warranty on coastal installs?
Palm Beach Polysatin carries a lifetime warranty against material defects, finish, fade, yellowing, peel, and warp, regardless of coastal exposure. Heritance hardwood shutters carry a lifetime panel warranty plus a 25-year fade warranty on stains; we recommend Heritance for inland and second-row Panhandle installs, not beachfront. PowerView motorization carries a 7-year motor warranty.
What is the Hunter Douglas lead time during hurricane season?
Standard Hunter Douglas lead time on the Panhandle is 4 to 6 weeks. During named-storm season (June through November), manufacturers prioritize south Florida HVHZ orders and our Panhandle lead time can stretch to 8 weeks. We confirm the lead time on the consultation. Pre-season (April, May) orders are the cleanest.
