Coastal bathrooms eat real wood for breakfast. The previous owners had installed beautiful basswood shutters that were already curling at the edges from steam and salt air. We swapped them out for matched 2.5 inch louver poly plantation shutters -- waterproof, never warps, never yellows, indistinguishable from wood at three feet. The bathroom looks brand new and will keep looking that way for decades.
